Ice has been pushing up onto the mud flats here at the Hoverport in Anchorage, Alaska. This is the three engine 20 ft parked in front of the ramp leading down to Upper Cook Inlet. This unit was just started at at around 20 degrees F. and all three engines fired and ran without a problem. Here is Franklin and Arlin at the public boat launch. Today Franklin competed an hour and a half of hovercraft operation training. The weather here, north of Seattle, Washington was calm and near 60 degrees. The training area had low boat traffic and minimal obstacles. Here are a few more pics from USHovercraft.
We have just completed a trip from Anchorage, Alaska to Seattle, Washington to deliver a 16ft hovercraft to Franklin R. The trip went smoothly despite the bad weather and large animals on the highway. Hovercraft training will start for the new owner covering our standard H101 curriculum and operator training. Dave C. has just placed an order the the next generation of hovercraft from USHovercraft. Slated for delivery on May 1st, 2009, this new hovercraft will double the current performance of our line of 3 engine hovercraft. The new skirt design will increase hovercraft hull clearance above 20 inches! The drive system will have numerous upgrades, including more horsepower and engine linking emergency options. USHovercraft will be conduction an H101 Class in Tulalip, Washington on Saturday, Oct 25th. When we deliver the three engine 8ft X 16ft hovercraft to Franklin R., we will open up his initial training course to the Northwest Hoverclub and to the public. Price is $200 per serson.
